A number of changes have been made to Tier 4 student visa requirements:
- 1. Tier 4 (General) English language courses – minimum level is now B2 of the CEFR and before you can apply to study an English language course you will need to have CEFR level B1 or higher.
- 2. If applying under Tier 4 (General) to study a course below a degree level and is not a foundation degree, you can only work up to 10 hours per week during term time.
- 3. If applying under Tier 4 (child) and are 16 or 17 years old, you can only work up to 10 hours per week during term time.
- 4. If your course is six months or less you cannot bring any dependants.
5. If applying under Tier 4 (General) to study a course lower than degree level (except foundation courses) your dependants can not work (unless they apply themselves under Tier 1 or 2).
