Tier 1 Visa (Investor)
The Tier 1 (investor) category is designed to allow high net worth individuals make a substantial financial investment in the United Kingdom.
Who can apply as an investor?
You do not need a job offer to apply under the investor category. When you apply you are awarded points based on your ability to invest £1,000,000 in the United Kingdom.
To qualify for a Tier 1 (Investor) visa you must score 75 points as follows:
- For an initial application you must have access to £1,000,000 that is disposable and in a financial institution, or £2,000,000 in personal assets and £1,000,000 in a loan.
- For an extension application you must already have £1,000,000 in the UK of which you must have invested £750,000 within three months, engaged in business activity and created at least two full time new jobs.
You do not need to score points for English or maintenance.
