Tier 2 (Intra-Company Transfer)

The intra-company transfer category is for employees of multi-national companies who are being transferred by an overseas employer to a skilled job in a United Kingdom based branch of the organisation. There are now three new sub-categories:
- Established staff - must have worked for the overseas employer for at least 12 months and may apply for up to three years under Tier 2 (intra-company transfer).
- Graduate trainee - must be graduates and have worked for the overseas employer for 3 months and may apply for up to 12 months under Tier 2 (intra-company transfer).
- Skills transfer - must be graduates, do not need previous experience but may only apply for up to 6 months under Tier 2 (intra-company transfer).
To qualify for a Tier 2 (intra-company transfer) visa you must score:
- 50 points for your attributes (sponsorship, qualifications and future expected earnings; and.
- 10 points for English language if extending beyond three years) .
- 10 points for available maintenance (funds).
For initial applications the points are awarded as follows:
For the certificate of sponsorship
- 25 points
For qualifications
- 0 points for no qualification or under GCE A-level
- 5 points for GCE A-level or equivalent
- 10 points for a Bachelor degree
- 15 points for a Masters degree or PhD
For future expected earnings
- 0 points for earnings below £20,000 p.a.
- 10 points for earnings of £20,000 - £23,999
- 15 points for earnings of £24,000 - £27,999
- 20 points for earnings of £28,000 - £31,999
