The Home Office UK Borders Agency regulates the entry of citizens of other countries entering the UK and anyone who wants to travel to the United Kingdom who is not a national of a European country will need to complete a UK Visa Application to gain entry for any reason. There are many companies who can assist with completion of the UK Visa Application under licence from the British Government.  There are many reasons why other nationals may want to travel to the UK, but there is an ever growing number of  international students wishing to study in universities in the UK due to the high standard of the education system and their degree will be recognised when they finish their studies and return to work in their country of origin. International students  bring a rich diversity of cultures to our shores and to university life but the UK Visa Application is complex and can be especially difficult to understand for people whose first language is not English.  The UK Visa Application process is based on a points system and will depend largely on the level of English acquired if the applicant is not a native English speaker.

Students from outwith the European Union must first obtain a student visa to study for an approved under graduate course in a recognised UK University.  Once the course has been completed, they are required to leave the country or obtain a Tier 1 Visa (post study work visa) or, if they plan to continue studying, they must apply for a Postgraduate Visa.  The Tier 1 Post Study Visa will only be valid for two years and will allow talented graduates to work in the UK after they have completed their degree.  It is a good way for graduates to gain experience of how UK organisations work and useful skills to be able to take back to their countries, encouraging trade and business development. The student visa is not a work permit and students cannot merely remain in the UK and work on their student visa.  Graduates must complete the relevant UK Visa Application for a Tier 1 Visa.  There are specialist agencies to assist with this, and it may be beneficial to use the services of the same agency as for gaining the original student visa as they will already be aware of the case and be able to advise the correct way forward

Students must have successfully completed their bachelor’s degree from a recognised UK educational institution and be able to demonstrate to the UK Borders Agency that they are in possession of a Tier 4 Student Visa results prior to making an application for a Tier 1 Visa and must fulfil other requirements as laid down by the legislation.  A reputable agency will make a detailed assessment of the situation, ensure that they have the correct documentation for application for a Tier 1 Visa and act as the intermediary between the applicant and the authorities.   By using an agency, the applicant will save time and have more chance of success than making the application themselves.
